There is so much to love about San Francisco! The food. The art. The people. “The City” by the bay continues to captivate, leaving us more and more smitten with each visit. Naturally, when our former V&S couple, Sue and Jafet mentioned City Hall for their anniversary photos we were all about it. The promise of ‘Banh My”s from Dragon Eats and a stroll through Haye’s Valley was exactly what our lives needed. So we packed out gear and hit the road for yet another iconic San Franciscan journey.

The drive to SF is roughly 3-4 hours from our hometown, but the minutes always tend to melt away. Perhaps it’s the anticipation for documenting love in one of the worlds greatest backdrops. Or perhaps, it’s simply the laughs along the way, but whatever it is these adventures always create core memories we look back on and adore.

If you have ever had the good fortune of observing San Francisco City Hall from outside, you understand just how breathtaking the architecture truly is. While walking up, columns appear to reach up into the heavens hoisting the clouds into place. Adorned with a gold laden rotunda, the structure is absolutely fascinating to behold. Yet, somehow, the inside of San Francisco City Hall is even more ethereal. Stealing the show inside this chamber of liberty is a magnificent staircase. We knew we had to take advantage of these steps and immediately recommended our friends Sue and Jafet to use the lull in traffic to capture some images. The results were exceptional!

The many tiers within San Francisco City Hall are easily accessible. However, we recommend visiting on a weekday when there isn’t much foot traffic. It’s a very popular location, be ready to share space with other couples looking for unparalleled beauty. Our advice is to simply use every possible nook and cranny of the building to your advantage. There are so many hidden gems within San Francisco City Hall, you really can’t miss. Keep your eyes peeled and look for ideal lighting, the results will speak for themselves.
