Things have been heating up around here, and we’re not just talking about the 107° forecast or the sweats we got from The Bachelorette this season (seriously if Hannah would’ve picked Luke I would’ve recycled the TV). Simultaneously bringing the heat and escaping from it, because I can’t speak for anyone else, but I really can’t survive another consecutive 50+ days of triple digits in Bakersfield, such as last year.

We’ve been so lucky to capture the most unforgettable moments of the season. Ranging from the Heisler Wedding in Santa Barbara which featured THE absolute best live band we’ve ever witnessed, (Ben Mallare Ent.) an engagement session on Rodeo Drive complete with ALL the love, a beautiful maternity session on the sands of Malibu, to one of the most fun family sessions in Camarillo. Every smile, kiss and sunset has been out of this world. Which leads to us having the same conversation day in and day out after a session, “OMG, I absolutely LOVE what we do.” There are so many new and exciting projects underway that we are eager to complete.

You see, this is the rhythm we search for day in and day out, perpetually moving forward, never losing a step. To be quite honest, there was a four day period this Summer that was particularly difficult, Kobe went missing on the Fourth of July. So I suppose life forced us to slow down. However, once we reunited with our four legged golden ball of unlimited energy, it was business as usual. By the way, THANK YOU so much to everyone who shared the posts and got the word out. Kobe’s story reached over 18k people, playing a key role in bringing him home.

Aside from searching for our sun kissed mascot, the time we have had free has been filled with website design and brainstorming the next big thing. We are actually in the process of organizing our next workshop, one which will cater to budding wedding photographers, slated for mid-Fall. So keep those eyes peeled for more information coming out of our IG page. Additionally, we are projecting our next learners meet up, “Boba and Bokeh”, to be held before Summers end. It’s been somewhat tricky scheduling something in this blistering heat but we are definitely excited to reconnect with everyone at the next one.

Oh, and did I forget to mention, with everything squeezed into our calendar we managed to squeeze in some personal/family time? “Yassssssss!” We made our way down to South Lake Tahoe! It was absolutely breathtaking, we are counting down the days until we capture our first wedding there. There is so much beauty in nature that cannot be replicated, it’s unbelievable. The calm and crystal clear lake replenished the soul and offered some much needed time to unplug and gather some fresh prospective.
